Mentoring- Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a long term mentoring programme. Volunteers are matched with children between the ages of 7 and 12 and will usually spend some time with them once a week. This could be helping them with homework, playing football in the park, going swimming or to the cinema. Volunteers support them to achieve their goals and have the opportunity to introduce them to new interests and experiences whether that's learning guitar, perfecting their front crawl, planning a day trip to London or learning how to cook.

These activities focus on developing the child's self esteem, social skills and confidence, with the long-term aim of raising their future aspirations.
